I personally like Square Edges. Rounded just feels weird, Curved is even weirder.

A screen is rectangular. Period.

Rounded corners are just hidden content.

A screen bending over the edge is just distorting the picture. Even if it's just the glass bending a little at the edge. I prefer a picture that is not distorted.

I currently have a phone with a camera in a tiny notch. I'd rather not have that, but it's actually not as big a problem as the round corners.

Given the constraint that the notch can’t physically be fully covered with pixels, I actually consider the pixels on either side of the notch to be extra pixels. However, the OS should play media in a rectangular shape, i.e. not using the extra pixels on either side of the notch. Of course it would be even better if there was no notch at all, but not at the expense of having less pixels overall, in my opinion. Those pixels can be used for status icons and such. I agree with your other points.

Yes, if the software supports the small notch properly, it's not really a problem.

The curved edge is a gimmick and a route to breaking your screen easier.

I always use a case so it doesn't bother me much.

I used to have a Samsung S8 and HATED the curved corners. Mostly because they always catch the light to create obvious reflections, and because of the viewing angle change the screen discolors the further it curves.

After that I had a Note 9 and really enjoyed the boxy shape. The only disadvantage was that, because of how I hold my phone, the sharp corners dug into my hands a bit. A case helped with that but didn’t fully solve it. Also the screen was still slightly curved.

After that, I decided to switch to iOS when Apple introduced the current iPhone design, and I couldn’t be happier. Perfectly flat screen, nice looking body shape and rounded corners to my palm doesn’t hurt after one handed usage. It’s exactly what I want.

Square fan as well, I've had few Samsungs in a row and I still haven't got accustomed to the curved edges.

Definitely square. Loved the original Xperia Z. Currently looking at the Nubia z50 ultra, but it apparently doesn't have great support outside of China

My favorite phone was the Xperia xz1 compact with a 4.7in rectangle screen. I really wish that small phones were still being made by major manufacturers. Seems like only small companies like unihertz are making them but many modern features are missing. My Zflip3 is close in pocket size but it would be nice if the screen was smaller.

Rounded, but on a flip-phone style folding device. I have a razr 5g for my work phone and I absolutely love the form factor. Can’t wait for apple to hop on board with this form factor, until then I’ll keep my 13 mini for personal use.

I want a flat screen oled Samsung and for them to get their head out their asses about these rounded edges. It's impossible to find a good screen protector

Square edges like the Sony smartphones

Square edge fan and flat display. It’s exactly what I want and works flawlessly. Ive seen curved edges on S7, S8. Weird color tint as you turn screen and generally annoying when just gripping the device.
