I'm having issues uploading as well. I (admittedly) don't have much knowledge of posting on platforms like this. Is there some format my images should be in? Rules?
I'm stupid.
Update: It's working now...

I'd like to know this also!
I finally got it working!
I got it uploaded. So its working now.
I also had that problem briefly. Tried it again about 10 mins later and it worked fine.
I tried re-uploadin mine every 15 mins since afternoon, but no luck.
EDIT: Ahhh, finally!
Glad you managed it eventually.
It's probably just a bug that needs to be ironed out in the new Lemmy software.
I still have this issue, I get an error saying
SyntaxError: JSON Parse error: Unrecognized token '<'
You may try compress the picture to less than 100kb. Mine is less than 50kb already.
I managed to get it working, but I think the issue wasn’t the file size and rather the image dimensions. My image had 1000x1000, scaling it to 250x250 fixed it. (That correlates of course, but the 1000x1000 was already only around 200kb)
Same, same. I think this was done to conserve storage on lemm.ee
servers.
This stems from how other instance admins reported issues with scalability of Lemmy's multimedia storage, and the fact it can inflate cloud costs very much.
