I couldn't find any reference to that either.

And the Neon Talk post says "Scans from epic: @80sretroelectro …" so I thought it was a scan of some magazine.

Not needed, this is clearly a render, and not of any real device either. It's a pastiche of retro elements in a nonfunctional, stylized arrangement. The "cassette" is a miniature rendering of full-sized reel-to-reel tape. The speakers are more mid-2000s era design language, and the colors are over-exaggerated for the era.

Not saying it's not a render, but there were real minicassettes with metal reels like that.

I can find no evidence that this was designed by Sanyo at all. It’s likely a modern rendering of a fake vintage product.
