No supremacy or xenophobia, just a space for Nordfolk to talk about things that concerns us more than other parts of the world. We're always bombarded with US defaultism everywhere and I don't know about others, but I miss a space where people use the metric system and actually talk about issues of local relevance rather than whatever is going on with "the president" or Wallmart.

It wouldn't exclude people based on ethnicity or language, but it should be a home for Nordic communities to form, where native languages and cultures can be allowed to live and thrive in peace.

Might there be a group of people interested in setting something like this up?

I mean - start small, open up a !Scandinavia Community and grow it. You can probably exclude foreigners by using your languages to an extent (much like there's both !Germany and ! Deutschland for example) and if you have enough interest, build an instance.

If you know your way around computers, renting a server and then deploying Lemmy via docker is fairly easy. You'll have to front the costs though.
