I feel like I don't do anything to actually help the poor. You give money to charities or the church but sometimes its so intangeble. I love seeing the church full of people's donations to help feed families and kids. Really feels like we're coming together to help our community. I only wish I could give fresh food. They need milk, meat and veggies.

I remember going to a church in a rural area and they had it beautifully decorated with the harvest from the local farms. I guess it actually means a lot in rural churches

When I used to go to church it was always a nice time of year because it was all about giving to others.

These days I also appreciate it was pagan as anything - probably another reason I liked it!
