Don't forget to tip!

It is kinda weird. You gotta say it to the robbers discretely, otherwise the other bystanders will start complaining about tankies.

[–] WhatDoYouMeanPodcast@hexbear.net 20 points 15 hours ago

Getting shot unstrategically in a hostage situation because you're outed as a tankie because you yelled your support for the robbers.

[–] Dessa@hexbear.net 40 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Yes, because my support for bank robbery is uncritical as long as the teller is unharmed

[–] blindbunny@lemmy.ml 10 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

The bank teller assisted in propping up an authoritarian system.

Good joke bad take (if in earnest)

Serious posting:

Tellers are as "complicit" in the authoritarian system as a McDonald's clerk is in animal exploitation. We can't hold these people responsible for the evils of their industry - they are comrades who are exploited by these industries as well as wage workers.

mcdonalds workers are part of the bourgeoisie actually if you really think about it. the actual proletariat is social media influencers and podcasters

[–] comrade_pibb@hexbear.net 15 points 14 hours ago

I just raise my fist in solidarity when I see a bank robber

“Get that bag, king!”

[–] JoeByeThen@hexbear.net 19 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Not at all. Remind people that it's not actually their money.

I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

Not at all! But when the police come by, you should say 'I invoke my 5th amendment right to remain silent.' (assuming you're in America) Then stop speaking entirely.

[–] Ithorian@hexbear.net 15 points 16 hours ago (3 children)

'I invoke my 5th amendment right to remain silent.'

For people who don't know, it is extremely important to say that phrase, the way laws are currently interpreted you do not have your 5th amendment rights until you invoke them. If you want a lawyer say that first! Anything said after invoking the 5th nullififes it.

[–] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 14 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Love when rights only work if you cast them like a spell. Normal country stuff.

Several of my lawyer friends have commented that it is like learning magic. Say the right arcane phrase and (legal) reality shifts.

I cast Habeas Corpus!

This is how we get sovereign citizens.

[–] KnilAdlez@hexbear.net 5 points 16 hours ago

Good point!

Bystander fatally injured in kinetic event occurring in the vicinity of an officer, all CCTV and bodycams malfunctioned

[–] Midnight_Pearl@hexbear.net 11 points 16 hours ago

yeah, you're supposed to yell "uncritical support" smh

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 15 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago)

Once they jump in the car,
hit the gas and scat
If you have to say something,
just stand and clap

[–] hollowmines@hexbear.net 4 points 13 hours ago

I'd recommend a quiet arm-raise as opposed to a spontaneous yell.

[–] gingerbrat@hexbear.net 7 points 17 hours ago

Yes, but make sure the robber knows you're referring to them.

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 6 points 16 hours ago

Yell it and then punch a security guard
