Did anyone else get an email about ATM Surcharge Class Action Settlement? (lemmy.ml)

I got an email yesterday saying the following:

Your share from the settlement of the class action lawsuit Andrew Mackmin, et al., v. Visa Inc., et al., No. 1:11-cv-01831 is $35.74 and is ready to be sent to you. The final payment amount was determined pursuant to the terms of the Court-approved Settlement, as further detailed at www.atmclassaction.com.

Please choose your preferred method of payment below. You will then be directed to an electronic payment claiming portal where you can securely and efficiently claim your award. Please claim your award promptly as you will not be able to claim your award electronically after 8/25/2023.

Additional information about your payment is available at https://www.atmclassaction.com/Home/FAQs or by contacting the administrator using the contact information listed below:

The website it links to to claim your payment is https://abdata.digitaltorana.com/ (but with a unique code after).

It seems mostly legit but it's so weird to me that when you click PayPal/Venmo it doesn't take you to a newtab on their respective domains it just asks you for your username directly on the website. And on the login form the TOS are hosted on notion? https://tremendous.notion.site/Recipient-Terms-of-Service-24cde3c2eb8d45d19d9903a58109b2cc

Anyway, just through I'd share that this is weird.

Of all the scams that ever scammed, this one scammed the hardest

But it seems legit (except that is asks for my PayPal password), like really legit (I'm sure there's a perfectly good reason the need to know my social security number and my mother's maiden name), I'm pretty sure it's not a scam (where did I save that copy of my birth certificate?) And its totally for it for $35.74 (oh, yeah they probably would need my left thumb sent to them in an ice box, wouldn't they)

Don't login, probably a scam.

Edit: Well maybe not, there Was a lawsuit. Be careful I guess.

I did a quick bit of research and found some news stories about it on reputable outlets. I believe it's legit. That said, it was a very quick bit of research, so be sure to do your own to your satisfaction (aside from just posting here).

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's legit based on some news sources writing about it but will check more later.
