This is going to turn into a nationwide pogrom at a rapid pace. Keep your powder dry.
Resist: It's Time
We are still in this together, but "this" is going to be real different in the very near future. This demands a different kind of "we."
The French Resistance during Nazi occupation played important roles delivering downed Allied airmen back to safety, supplying military intelligence, and acts of sabotage.
The Underground Railroad is estimated to have brought 100,000 freedom seekers to safety between 1810 and 1850.
It's time.

This is how they bring back slavery.
Even acknowledging that the cruelty is the point, I wonder what’s going to happen to the price of groceries when the labor force that runs American agriculture is criminalized.
Crops will die in the field unharvested, then not get planted next season. These “criminals” are the ones who maintain the food supply for the entire US, not to mention exports.
That labor won't be gone, we'll just go back to openly using slavery. This one isn't even a bullshit interpretation thing like birthright citizenship, slavery is explicitly totally fine if done to prisoners, so life without parole is 100% to be read as "made into a slave".
Deep breath:
To become law in Mississippi, H.B. 1484 must clear two separate committees before advancing through the House and Senate with a simple majority vote and then making it to Gov. Tate Reeves’ desk. The bill’s many logistical challenges will make it hard for it to get past the committee phase, legal experts say.
This bill has only been introduced. Any legislator can do that with anything.
Yeah, but it was introduced in a state where the majority government and populace are stupid and racist enough to push it through. I say that as someone who was born and raised in that state. Just one of a novel’s worth of reasons I left that backwards shithole of a state as soon as I got the chance.
