This news has made my week. I don't know where it will lead, but right now, it's a beautiful thing to see.

I've seen so many videos of Americans actually talking to people in China now, and it's just so wholesome.

I'm probably going to use this platform to help me learn Mandarin. There's plenty of cool content on there, though. Interesting tech, awesome music and agitprop, etc.

Yeah I'm having a blast on the app so far, didn't realize how much people in China miss USSR

I've seen a lot of nostalgic pro-Soviet content, but in a thread on the app where someone asked how they felt about the Soviet Union, there was a lot of sentiment being expressed that indicated that they're still pretty sore towards the Soviet Union about the Sino-Soviet split.

I even saw people suggesting that in its post-Stalin state it was better for the Soviet Union to fall.

If I'm being honest, I was pretty shocked, but I held my tongue because it doesn't feel like it's my place to criticize.

Edit: to be clear, my experience on the app has been overwhelmingly positive, and I love seeing the cultural exchange, because it has me very hopeful that one of the most important pieces of propaganda that the American ruling class has inculcated in its working class (China bad) will be broken.

Honestly can't blame them for being sour about it. Khrushchev fucked up big time there. Arguably, his denunciation of Stalin is what ultimately set USSR on the course it ended up on.
