Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Fuckin clickbait toilet journalism, goes from "where prisoners call the shots" to "where prisoners tell the staff the rules" to "new staff so inexperienced that prisoners frequently have to tell new workers what they are supposed to do"

🤢🤮

Regardless of the quality of the headline, the idea that the prison system has reached a point where prison officers are in any way being instructed by prisoners is still alarming.

Fair, but twist it the other way -

"The prison system in the UK works so well in rehabilitating criminals, they know that good behaviour will help their cause and they will go out of their way to help a new prison guard to stop him getting in trouble for not knowing every part of the system from day one"

It's the same news story, just not specifically designed to make you angry

It would be alarming. But here it is and it’s 2023 and this is just another day in our time line.

I’m at a point where stuff like this isn’t a surprise anymore. It’s just normal and expected now.

Our world leaders completely failed us.

Anyone fancy a day-trip to Wandsworth Prison Museum?
