Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

LOL, rule of law applied to the cons, what a quaint notion.

When Trump does something anymore, I look to see what he is doing to emulate Hitler.

Here's my conspiracy theory right now:

He's trying to choose placements that will either a)litmus test current Republican senators so he can get his base to replace them and/or b) setting them up such that he can dismantle the uncooperative lying Senate that is blocking America's will.

It's probably as simple as hiring the biggest Russia kiss asses, but I still have my fears

[–] theunknownmuncher@lemmy.world 17 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

He's picking people that have damaging kompromat held over them, to guarantee that they will follow absolutely any order.

[–] Ulvain@sh.itjust.works 9 points 6 hours ago

Correction : he's being told who to pick by Moscow based on who else the have massive kompromat on

[–] HobbitFoot@thelemmy.club 7 points 8 hours ago

Yeah. There was talk about using the 25th Amendment at the end of Trump's first term. That won't happen with this cabinet.

SecDef choice is meant to disrupt the military so it is not as effective.

Jesus christ you know it's bad when you agree with John fucking Bolton. Those two are, at best, treasonous Russian assets.

Those investigations had better be a lot more thorough than the ones done for bouf-boy Kavanaugh!

[–] RestrictedAccount@lemmy.world 13 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Just release the results of the investigation that he just resigned from congress to prevent form being made public.

[–] mjhelto@lemm.ee 2 points 8 hours ago

Oh, when they don't confirm his appointment he will have resigned and lost his job, hopefully for good!

[–] postmateDumbass@lemmy.world 5 points 9 hours ago

Tulsi and Matt better start drinking BEER!

[–] pearsaltchocolatebar@discuss.online 5 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Or the ones that were already done on him that amounted to nothing.

[–] Kbobabob@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

So you're saying they have to find something?

[–] foggy@lemmy.world 25 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago) (3 children)

Treason can carry a death penalty.

Just stating the facts.

[–] teamevil@lemmy.world 20 points 17 hours ago

It sure fucking hasn't carried so much as an encouraging slap in the last few years unfortunately.....

[–] pearsaltchocolatebar@discuss.online 12 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

That's why Biden would be well within his rights as the president to have them all hung. But he's just going to let the fascists in with open arms.

[–] BrianTheeBiscuiteer@lemmy.world 2 points 55 minutes ago

That's a political bomb right there. I mean it either slams the brakes on fascism or the accelerator. And that's not to say they'll stop trying to reshape the nation. Our institutions are only as strong as our leadership and right now having a spine is an immediate disqualifier.

[–] RamblingPanda@lemmynsfw.com 3 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Your heard it! Now operate!

[–] ChowJeeBai@lemmy.world 3 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

What? Why? I like being well hung.

[–] RamblingPanda@lemmynsfw.com 2 points 7 hours ago

Yes. They're getting hung by the state. The operation will add up to five inches.

Is that Netyanyahu?

[–] Suffa@lemmy.wtf 11 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

Why do they all look so weird.

[–] mjhelto@lemm.ee 2 points 8 hours ago

Human meat suit!

[–] morphballganon@lemmy.world 7 points 14 hours ago

They knew they'd never make it on their looks, so they became republicans so they could take what they wanted without consequence.
