I am really surprised about how a for profit company can be so dumb.

Killing the golden egg laying goose can be so apt here.

u/spez, the most downvoted human in history

Can we please get back to talking about Rampart? - spez, probably.

Yeah, it's incredible, they want more money yet to do it they literally ruined something that was already making them money

They seriously need to crash and burn, losing everything, then they'll understand. Maybe.

I will be going back—to archive my comments, scrub them, and then delete them (using Power Delete Suite).

Sure, I should have done so before the blackout, but hindsight is 20/20.

[–] UTJD16@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I am planning the same. Why Power Delete Suite? Just want to make sure I do this as thoroughly as possible!

As far as I know, it's the easiest to use. Just go to their page, drag the provided button to your tool bar, and then run it on your user page.

There are also options to edit your comments to a custom message and to export your comments to a CSV file. It's that latter one that gives me headaches right now. The export works fine, but due to the blackout, the script can't access my posts/comments on the participating subreddits.

Well, sounds like its time to change it from two days to indefinite. Which it should have been from the get-go.

/videos and /r/Music have planned that for days now.

I don't really care if the blackout works or not. Either way Reddit is going to die, the only difference is how quickly. I'm just happy it introduced me to Lemmy which is much closer to the kind of experience I wanted anyway.

Couldn't agree more. Maybe not everyone will get it but you know, many people didn't get reddit when I joined over a decade ago either.

I don't know if they sound more desperate or more delusional.

More pathetic

I've only been on Reddit to talk about the protests and the alternatives lately.
