So, I think we all know how when companies upgrade they sell all their old laptops, flooding their market and making them insanely cheap, ThinkPads being the most well known for this.

Now, in places like the US there are a lot of stores for this, such as eBay. But I'm in Greece and I'm not keen on international orders (shipping costs, potential tariffs if extra-European, several other reasons).

Does anyone know of any (trustworthy) stores for used ThinkPads in Greece? I've looked at some already and they have some nice deals (particularly on T495s, X1s and T14s) but I want to make sure I'm getting the full picture.

no idea as to specific stores, but judging from the keyboard layouts the majority of the laptops coming to the SEE are of german, swiss, and nordic origin, so with you being in the EU importing those shouldn't be a huge hassle and/or cost, should you fail to locate local businesses that import those en masse.

Honestly the best deals I find in the US are buying from Joe Schmo on FB marketplace or Craigslist. Whatever your local “I want to sell this old junk” websites are are what I’d look at first. eBay is great if you want to buy an almost new machine, but you’re looking at older machines where you’d get a much better deal buying from a rando. Expect to pay around 30% more on eBay or any similar sources because of all of the fees associated with selling as a business instead of privately.
