Just a general thread about running. How's your running going? What are you training for? Did you get new shoes? Sporting an injury etc.

Just ran a half marathon today. Finished at 2:12. I was aiming for 2hrs but I still have a lot of room for improvement.

Followed the 2hrs pacers for 6km, finally accepted that it wasn't sustainable for me yet (HR reached 190).

Planning to do some deadlifts in the upcoming months before getting back to higher running volume.

I beat my best 5k running time the other day, 23 mins 16s.

The first time I was ever able to complete a 5k circuit without stopping, my time was 29m 48s.

I've completed about 1 a week for 2 years, except for a break of 8 months late last year, early this year, due to hip problems.

I just got some new shoes - Brooks, which I've never tried before. They felt amazing at the store and I'm looking forward to my first run in them!

Bad sleep so couldn't get up for a Parkrun this morning. Managed to get out an hour later with the doggo. My knee seems to be playing up a bit, so I guess I'll ice it for a bit. Just starting to get my motivation and consistency back after my injury period, so don't really want to get another so quickly.

I ran a half marathon at the end of September and then complained to my friends how running has ruined my summer and taken over my life. I grew pretty sick of it. So, now that that's out of my system,I feel refreshed and I laced up and ran 4mi over lunch earlier this week and it was wayyyy harder than it should have been hahaha! Looking like I've got some rebuilding to do.

Beat my 10k PB on Sunday by about 20 minutes, my first sub 1hour 10k run, so pretty happy with that! I never intended to go for it and actually started out at a very slow pace, but each km felt more and more comfortable, I'd started off doing a 6:40/km, each split getting faster, ending on a 5:08/km. I was only 30 seconds off beating my 5km PB.

I'd hit a bit of a plateau recently but starting doing some interval training, I'm thinking it might be starting to pay off.
