Their brutish trolls

Def misread this as their British trolls, a misinterpretation I fully support.

[–] yeather@lemmy.ca 23 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

Average Frenchman circa 300-1912

Still mad about all the times we came over la manche and wandered around burning villages until the knights turned up, then ran off like trick or treaters.

Average Roman 40-410.

"The pope may be French, but Jesus Christ is English!" --Roland, A Knight's Tale

I wasn't sure if there'd be enough material for a fediverse memes community but that's fuckin top tier

[–] Blaze@feddit.org 9 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Don't worry, there's plenty of material

[–] awwwyissss@lemm.ee 9 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Tbh the shitposting here is truly awful. It keeps me coming back.

Proud of you Lemmy

I've got loads of still unposted stuff. Don't worry.

But then again, the whole community was my idea.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 19 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Not the meme .world deserves, but maybe the one it needs

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 15 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

This was posted on feddit.uk by a user from piefed.social, what’s .world got to do with it?

[–] Nima@leminal.space 16 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Tina turner popped into my head because of this comment.

what's .world when this post is on feddit.uk? what's .world got to do, got to do with it? who needs .world when you have your own instaaance?

i am so sorry for this.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 15 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

You should be banned from the whole fediverse and launched into space in a rocket on a long-period orbit because of this comment.

But I enjoyed it.

[–] Emperor 10 points 3 weeks ago

I'm just arranging it.

[–] Nima@leminal.space 5 points 3 weeks ago

i couldn't resist. lol

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

It's the biggest instance of Lemmy and constantly tied up in knots over other instances being evil.

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 15 points 3 weeks ago

Schrödinger's instance

[–] nifty@lemmy.world 9 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

The one preaching freedom but discrediting the others, while this can point to both, only one side does so because the opponent is hateful and intolerant. No tolerance for intolerance, isn't a paradoxon. However both sides aren't immune to extremism, so it's on each person's duty to fight back when blind group thinking immerges. We all believe we're immune to going the wrong way, but it actually takes time and dedication, questioning your own motivation, to avoid fallacies. In perspective of both, the side they believe in is in the right, but only one on is destroying out of spit. It needs a fool to believe in both being equally bad, ignoring details of severity. Taking away an extremists voice, who's spreading hate, isn't suppression.

I'm against blocklists because they cause the internet to embody the Dark Forest hypothesis.

If someone decides to put you on one you aren't informed, you can't reason with them, and there's usually no way off it and you're just like, not able to engage with a huge heap of people because whoever manages the list says so.

There's an anti AI/NFT blocklist for bsky and I don't use it just because I feel that strongly about the risk of false positives

Also, this is a first jab at Forkeys. I guess it won't be the last.
