That's not a dogwhistle. That's just a step down from a call to action that incites a lynching, if we're being charitable.

[–] Dessa@hexbear.net 28 points 1 month ago

Yeah, what kind of dogwhistle names a specific policy and a specific group openly?

the democrats have literally not said anything about trans people this election cycle, except to shit on us with this one

so tell me again how voting for these fuckers would help trans-people again? Trans right are being eroded RIGHT FUCKING NOW and the democrats are in charge!

Iran has better trans rights than Texas at the moment

In a sane world this man would be ejected from the party and disqualified over this. Among other things. Imagine if democrats had a party line and were actually as supportive of trans people as they claim to be.

I'm reminded of the Henry Cuellar situation, where the Democratic leadership decided to support the anti-abortion blue dog who was also taking bribes from Azerbaijan (so basically the original Eric Adams) against a primary challenge from a progressive candidate, and he ultimately won the primary by less than 300 votes. And they wonder why nobody believes them when they say they're "the most progressive presidency since FDR".

I'm in Texas and the first thing I ever heard from him was him talking about the border. Hated him ever since. I miss Beto. Come back my failson

Legends say he's still doing kickflips off restaurant tables to this day.

He is still the highest performing democrat in both the senate and governor race in years

The GOP in Texas have been running attack ads featuring a trans-masc student wrestler that was forced to wrestle with girls due to the anti-trans Texas laws that already exist. Their ad is seemingly against their own laws effects, but of course none of that matters to the optics of an attack ad in Texas.

This Dem could have easily pointed any of this out, but of course goes with the worst option of being even more explicitly anti-trans. the-democrat

Here's the previous post about the trans-masc wrestler attack ad by the GOP: https://hexbear.net/post/3620896

Their ad is seemingly against their own laws effects,

The point of this type of thing is to legislate trans people out of being allowed to exist indirectly.

Considering how marginalised trans people are already this ain't a dogwhistle, that a god damn blow horn. The way people talk about trans people in sports you'd think theyre the ones who sexually abused the US womens gymnast team, or perpetrated heinous acts like jerry Sandusky. Or they caused a general epidermic of abuse at all levels https://theconversation.com/violence-at-all-levels-un-report-into-the-abuse-of-women-and-girls-in-sport-is-a-wake-up-call-for-australia-239085

Who's going to be the one to photoshop the Trolley meme where it was just Palestine in the tracks, to add the Trans flag along side?
