General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

!ukpolitics@lemm.ee appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(

Holy shit that amazing. Well deserved. All the Tories could offer them was clapping.

It's almost like having a union gets you a fair deal.

If I remember right, there is only a 2% difference between this offer and the last one they received from the previous government.

It's not suddenly loads better, they just could never accept any deal made by a Conservative government.

Edit: I just looked up the previous government's offer, and the difference is actually .3%. I'm sure those strikes weren't politically motivated though. ๐Ÿ™„

Thank goodness ๐Ÿ™. We're gonna need some doctors when all those pensioners die from the cold.... /s.

Well if they die then we don't need to care for them anymore, so that's a saving right there. You have to think big picture and develop policies which synergize together.

Oh well at least that's over. Totally pointless few years, as it was obvious that they were going to win, in the end they were always going to get their own way because all they had to do was start to quit.

I know the Tories want to privatize the NHS, but I think they probably wanted to do it on their timetable.

Ah, that old chestnut.
