The goal is to build a community for everyone who enjoys science fiction and related topics. Meh, "series" in this case is a set of graphic novels. Had me hyped for an actual show, but alas.

I guess they're assuming that comic fans don't care as much about Whedon's alleged behavior? (Or at the very least, believe he's served his time, so to speak?)

Is Whedon involved in this comic series? I mean, I guess they'd still have his creative fingerprints all over them regardless...

Mentioned only once in the paper. It's likely his name won't appear in the comics. Given how his last show tanked, he's still radioactive.
