Lemmy start by saying I don't trust telegram in termes of privacy (pun intended). But I still use it for specific purposes and I was wondering if there is a point in using a fork privacy-wise? I's assume not since it still uses telegram servers but still curious about an explanation as to why not! Cheers

The official Telegram client has integrations with some proprietary stuff like Google Maps and probably Google Translate? Another client can help with that. It won't help with privacy of Telegram itself though.

Don't why you want to use Telegram but in any cases this is not a good idea, even with Forks. It maybe remove blobs but don't change the Telegram infrastructure

Telegram client is the only thing from them that's open, so I would stick to that as it's where most eyes are looking.
