Is SoP really a soulslike, or is this a case of linguistic drift? Seems like every action-RPG is called soulslike lately.

Depends who you ask, really. I’ve seen people say it isn’t and that it’s more like Nioh than a soulslike because of Team Ninja involvement. Then I’ve seen others call Nioh a soulslike, but say SoP isn’t one.

There’s loads of opinions on what a Soulslike is when it comes to this game. But, the Wikipedia definition puts it as a soulslike, if it is to be believed.

Honestly though, I have no idea.

Played through all of it in co-op, and loved every minute of it. With DFFOO dead now, I hope Team Ninja gets another chance to continue on the Dissidia Final Fantasy story I've come to love.

It's such a great game. Thoroughly enjoyed playing it when I went through it, and have been meaning to go back and play it again.
