Google's new Pixel 9 has the ability to copy data from another Android phone after setup. Here's how that works.

The important bit for anyone like me who thought "can't all phones do that?"

Android has supported this functionality for years, but only during initial device setup. If you skip that option or it fails, you previously needed to factory reset the device to try again.

So a small QoL update that'll probably help a few people

Thanks, I was wondering what's new about it.

My Galaxy S21 can do that as well.

Yeah, I think Samsung's app has been able to do this for years.

Looks amazing, I hate when I have to reinstall stuff on a new phone (which is not often, I'm still on pixel 5 and plan to stay long with that because the newer ones are too big)
