Sidebar settings saved using cookies instead of account credentials? (readit.buzz)

The settings on the righthand sidebar return to defaults every time I close Firefox. This might be because my Firefox settings get rid of cookies between sessions?

I don't want to make my browser less secure, even for just this site, but it is slightly annoying (only slightly) having to reselect options every time.

Am I diagnosing the problem correctly and, either way, is there a solution?

We're looking to see if it can be set by account - it is by cookie which means each browser has its own view. I'll report back after some discussions with developer on user feedback.
