Labradorite -- the schiller effect gets my motor running. I haven't tried licking it. But probably should. ;)

Holy shit, labradorite is beautiful. We have a company here in town that does 'granite' countertops and I was always in love with it since my undergrad. I want countertops of it. However, the correct thing to say would be your favourite mineral is feldspar - no?

I mean, it's sort of like saying selenite when it's the gem quality gypsum. There's nomenclature distinction, even if the chemical distinction is trivial.

No, I do not lick these or other rocks, heh. The last time I was collecting halotrichite, there was enough dust kicked up I could taste it in the air, if that counts.
