Hey All,
I'd like to self-host a Mastodon and kbin instance, but without the hassle of the actual hardware management nor the uptime. I've heard of #yunohost but wonder if there are other alternatives?
Can I buy my own domain name and use it for 2 services (like Mastodon and kbin?
Many thanks!

Seriously, I'm not sure I have a great answer for this. I'm using a digitalocean droplet (a VPS) with 4 CPUs and 8 GB of RAM and it's... fine? If I get more than about 1000 active users I'll switch to some kind of dedicated server. Doesn't seem likely to happen soon.

Seriously, thanks :-)
Do you host several services (for example kbin+mastodon)? Am I correct that it's via different ports that you an then target different services?

Not on this VPS, no, but there's headroom for that I think. I host mastodon elsewhere and the biggest problem with that is disk space really.

But you can host both on a single server, yes, but you'll need some kind of reverse proxy.

It’s a pity. I believe there is a lot of potential in selling hosting of such solutions. But thx!
