Many look at this as exciting (it is indeed). I also look at this and think "We need publicly funded elections." I feel like that money could be much better spent than on advertising.

Seriously, campaigns are stupidly expensive.
Which creates a barrier of entry and only the rich can run for office. Most of our early presidents were just average Joe's running. We will never be able to have just an average middle/lower class person be a candidate.
I donated $100 and will probably donate more.
I feel like this is our last attempt at a do over of 2016. I was swindled by Russian propaganda and bought into the "protest by voting third party," and while my vote didn't change anything (New Yorker), a lot of others were also duped in swing states and counties.
First, You rock. You changed the context of your actions based on new information and have decided to change your approach going forward, and you're honest about it. All political discourse should occur at this level of self-awareness and transparency.
And just so you know I commiserate....I volunteered for Blegojevich.
Bro, I voted Nader in 2000. In Florida. I still love Nader but I sure learned that lesson.
Yes! Same in Florida too.
This is the first time I've ever donated to a campaign. I did the $10 a week. I feel like I'm included even if it's small.
The Harris campaign said July also marked the “best grassroots fundraising month in presidential history” with 94% of its donations falling under $200.
The campaign also highlighted some key demographic trends it saw in July donations: more than 10 times the number of Gen Z donors contributed compared to June, and more than eight times the number of millennial donors than the previous month. Sixty percent of donors, the campaign noted, were women. And as several coalition groups have held organizing Zoom calls in recent days, the campaign noted that groups “like Black Women for Harris, Latinas for Harris, and yes, White Dudes for Harris raised more than $20 million for Team Harris.”
The money raised by Harris’ political operation in July falls short of the record high set in September 2020 when Biden’s campaign and the Democratic Party raised $383 million, but it underscores how much her surprise candidacy swiftly changed the fundraising trajectory for the party.
So she beat trump after he got shot at and had the great photo? Sounds like he's in a bit of a slump
In like a week, too. It's like everyone was just edging once the possibility of Biden quitting the race came out.
That's cool. I'm struggling just to eat this week. But good for her.
