Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Scaramucci also tweeted, "When polls drop (and they will), Trump is going to go full on racist."

Trump has always been a racist. We've always known it. I guess he can always escalate, but don't pretend this is a new thing. Racism is at the core of his identity.

[–] just_another_person@lemmy.world 22 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Did the Central Park Five case give it away?

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 5 points 4 months ago

He still insists that they had criminal records when they did not and he knows that because at President he could background check anyone he feels like at a level no one else in this country could.

[–] Voroxpete@sh.itjust.works 7 points 4 months ago

They're not calling it a new thing. They're saying he's going to be more overt about it.

Keep in mind, there's still a non-zero chance the guy just straight up says the N word in public before this whole thing is through. As blindingly obvious as Trump's racism is, it can still get even more obvious.

[–] troglodytis@lemmy.world 57 points 4 months ago (4 children)

How bout we just go vote him out. That's the important part right now. We don't need hyperbole, we just go vote in November

[–] baru@lemmy.world 20 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Might not be enough. Apparently they have better plans in place to manipulate the voting proces into (incorrectly) declaring Trump and others the winner, even if the votes say something else.

[–] KevonLooney@lemm.ee 2 points 4 months ago (5 children)

That's not going to work. This isn't Venezuela. If official results differ from exit polls, Democrats would not accept it.

Trump fans are just loud. They're not going to do anything.

[–] BreadstickNinja@lemmy.world 15 points 4 months ago (1 children)

This is naive thinking. They tried to overturn the result in 2020 and they've had four years to hone their strategy. Moderates who defended the election process last round have been pushed out of office. States with GOP legislatures in particular could refuse to certify totals and instead send electors of their own choosing.

It's not as simple as who gets more votes. The process requires that officials at multiple levels of government work in good faith, and there are a lot of bad faith actors taking office. Look at who won the Maricopa County primaries yesterday. That's the modern GOP.

[–] tiefling@lemmy.blahaj.zone 21 points 4 months ago (1 children)

[–] Thebeardedsinglemalt@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

Although the vice president trails Trump by 5 percent in a national Rasmussen poll,

Oh wow, then Harris must be at least 10% ahead! That's actually stellar news. 😀

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 3 points 4 months ago

Yeah Rasmussen is shit, but unfortunately every poll always seems to be D is up 5 points! Reality: D was down 15. :(

[–] RIPandTERROR@sh.itjust.works 36 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Barret and the gang are getting serious apparently

[–] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 23 points 4 months ago

They always were. They were too extreme for the main Avalanche faction too.

[–] thisbenzingring@lemmy.sdf.org 30 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Rasmussen poll

LOL why even give that shit space in your article? Like its one of the worst! Even 538 gives it a poor grade (doesn't even make it to the top 275)

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 8 points 4 months ago (7 children)

Because rawstory - like all ad-supported media - wants money. It’s a horse race bonanza.

Polls released in late July or early August have offered some . . .

It was published August 1. What “early August” poll are they referencing? Apparently one that happened within 12 hours of the story?

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 4 points 4 months ago

I love the "or" part. You're the goddamn "journalist" find out what the date was lol

[–] thisbenzingring@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 4 months ago

LoL i didn't catch that part, good call

We just need Trump to hold on a little longer. Just until the ballots are printed.

[–] just_another_person@lemmy.world 10 points 4 months ago (1 children)

He can only drop it to JD Vance now, who would be a surefire loser.

[–] morphballganon@lemmy.world 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Unless he replaces Vance and then drops

[–] just_another_person@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I believe he can't replace Vance at this point. Vance could himself drop I think? There's lots of FEC questions on that one.

[–] harrys_balzac@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Only thing Shady Vance will be dropping is his pants at the Raymour & Flanagan Labor Day sale.

[–] DancingBear@midwest.social 9 points 4 months ago

That joke is sofa king stupid

[–] just_another_person@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

💥💥💥💥

[–] randon31415@lemmy.world 16 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Like the ff7 terrorist group? Or the video game studio? Which avalanche we talking about? (Too many summer steam games played recently)

[–] Cagi@lemmy.ca 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Both seem keen on fighting corrupt politicians, be it in Medici or Midgar. Hard to tell.

[–] randon31415@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Always saw President Shinra as a competent Trump, and Rufus as "Hi, I'm Eric!"

[–] cmbabul@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

Rufus was infinitely smarter tha an Eric could even conceive of

Ugh. Sweaty rapist face. Can we not, photo editors?

[–] exanime@lemmy.world 10 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Trump is attempting to ski now?!

[–] Drusas@kbin.run 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Oh man, I wish he would. That would be hilarious to see. And dangerous for such an out of shape old man.

[–] BallsandBayonets@lemmings.world 3 points 4 months ago

It's August. There is no snow.

I reeeeaaaaaaly want to see him try to ski now.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 10 points 4 months ago

Let your freak flag fly, Big T. We love seeing you flail and get weirder and meltdown. The more that everyone sees your unhinged bullshit, the worse it looks for ya in November.

[–] aseriesoftubes@lemmy.world 8 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Scaramucci also tweeted, "When polls drop (and they will), Trump is going to go full on racist."

Why does the media keep pretending that Anthony Scaramucci is a serious person? He’s as much of a whore for attention as Trump.

[–] HaleHirsute@infosec.pub 8 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I used to think so too, but I watch him on the Rest is Politics US podcast he comes across as very thoughtful with great insights.

[–] thesporkeffect@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

He's an asshole but not an idiot, and he's not pretending to be anything he's not

[–] MerchantsOfMisery@lemmy.ml 5 points 4 months ago

These headlines are so over the top.

[–] carl_dungeon@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

We can only hope
