As much as this is as of yet simple lip service, I hope this indicates an intent to deviate from Biden's deep-throated support of Netanyahu and (now ICJ-validated) Apartheid Israel.

It's a major rhetorical shift for sure and Biden would certainly never have done this. I want to see a lot more progress so hopefully they get the attention they need from this feeler to take some next steps.
This is my hope as well. As a mostly independent voter, she's gonna have to do more to convince the Greens, PSLs, and Liberals that she won't renege on things she's signaled have her support and what will be challenged.
I'm excited to give her a chance to put her money where her mouth is, considering she's offered about the most substantial criticism of Israel's genocide that we've seen from this administration.
There's no way she hasn't already promised to keep sending Israel free weapons on our dime. Israel is one issue where both parties' positions are 100% the same.
The US need Israel's Iron Dome short range defensive technology, to complement mid-long range US defenses.
Meanwhile, everyone needs Ukraine's cheap drone warfare expertise, particularly in the sea drone area.
You may think it's "on our dime" or whatever, but it's really a quid-pro-quo in both cases. Uninvolved countries, will have to actually pay for it.
You may think it's "on our dime" or whatever
I don't know why you put this in quotes when it's literally on our dime, and not only that, we're watching the impoverishment and neglect of our own people on a historically vulgar scale in service to this war machine and genocide.
But, we're a warmongering nation. People will always make excuses.
Well, for starters I'm not from the US, so it's not my dime 😀
we're a warmongering nation
The moment the US stops being one, nobody will take it seriously, tanking the USD. Keep in mind the US has little to offer other than intimidation: fintech is only worth as much as someone wants to use it, IP is worth as much as others respect it. The US have barely any exports that can't be sourced elsewhere, making US's IOU money almost worthless without a military backing it with a "like it, or else".
Procuring weapons deals, is one of US's topmost priorities. How US citizens decide to distribute the spoils of war among themselves, is an internal matter.
Well, for starters I'm not from the US, so it's not my dime
That explains a lot. It must be even easier to support war and genocide when you're neither voting nor paying for it.
Try again. I don't support war or genocide, the Spanish government I voted for, has already recognized the State of Palestine, has been sending aid to Gaza for a while, and is charging Israel a good dime for its weapon purchases. Hey, now that I think about it... is that your dime we're getting from Israel? 😘
Anyway, the collapse of the USD is likely to cause many wars all around, until the world settles into a new status. I don't really like that either.
This isn't beeing very nice.
Isn't this literally two days after she parroted the Zionist mantra "israel has a right to defend itself"?
She is still saying that and probably will continue to. Kamala is not someone to ever support uncritically. She's a politician who is thinking strategically and has been known to publicly suspend her ostensible personal morals in the interests of the state (such as when she legally defended the death penalty while stating she personally opposed it at the same time). This is not a person to put faith in, this is a politician who just indicated she is willing to give on this position in return for political support. It's not enough yet but this is significant progress in my opinion.
Every nation has the right to defend itself. There are big disagreements between nations about what form that should take as well as what response is considered reasonable.
When "we have a right to defend ourselves" is the excuse given for genocide it's completely unreasonable
