Hey there! You might have noticed that I try to have a daily thread on !chat@yiffit.net to talk about usually furry related stuff, but SFW and NSFW.

I think it's a great idea to build a better community: every day a different discussion.

Since I've been rather busy with admin stuff, I don't have anything prepared for today :(

But I thought I might use this opportunity to ask you: what are some favorite topics, questions or or ideas for daily discussions?

Thank you and keep being awesome everyone.

EDIT: Thank you for your feedback everyone. I've read all comments. I will reply to each of them individually later, but thank you so much for the ideas <3

I like to talk about video games and TTRPGs

For a discussion topic maybe like a monthly "Show and tell" kind of thing where people can show off art, DIY projects, cool pictures they took, anything they find interesting/cool/are proud of and want to show off

I'd love for one where people could share some of their favorite artists/ suit makers/ writers etc etc. Bonus points for accounts in the fediverse!!

Coming from other platforms as a lurker, one of the things I enjoy is looking on as folks talk about their arts and crafts. I have learned a bit about suit making just from keeping an eye on reddit threads and what not.

Would certainly stick around for arts and crafts!

I do enjoy discussing movies. Always a fun topic. Since you can learn other people's likes and see if they like similar things as you do. And can always get good recommendations on new films to watch. (⌒‿⌒)

Same with TV shows and anime. Though I really haven't watched much in the way of a lot of Modern TV shows or anime besides the more recent Star Wars series. (>﹏<)

Hmmm.. an odd question to ask and would be a fun one would be finding out if anyone grew up on Western Cartoons like Tom and Jerry or Soviet era cartoons like Ну, погоди!/Nu, Pogodi!/Well, just you wait! When they were younger. And maybe talk about other cartoons they grew up watching. ╮( ̄~ ̄)╭

Maybe I'm a little out of place, but.. hey, are we even furries if we still haven't talked about IT/system administration/programming and especially about dirty UNIX things?

But to be serious, seems like there are many tech-savvy people here, so this is my idea for further discussions. Maybe we could talk about which OSes do we use, which programming languages use for our projects, and maybe even share some ideas about what we possibly could develop (sounds like something unrealistic, but who knows).

And of course share your programming socks if you have any!

I always enjoyed worldbuilding and "how would this work" type of threads. Coming up with designs for furry shoes, headgear, clothing that allows use of wings or spines, etc. I'd also love to see more fursuit stuff, the fursuit community on this site only has like 5 posts so far.

It might also be a good idea to advertise different communities linked to this one that people might not know about, or something to drum up interest as we're all settling in from the migration. Let people know there's a chat community, a fursuit community, a greymuzzle community, etc.

I think it would be interesting to try to make an explicit effort to post on most of the posts. I haven't done it much, but even the yiff posts can have decent discussion
