A new version of Jerboa is out, and I was immediately greeted by a popup saying the instance version is on 0.17.4 (?) and Jerboa won't work correctly until it is upgraded to 0.18.

The app just crashed when I tried to upvote a comment, so is kinda unusable, and downgrading isn't ideal.

Are there plans to upgrade?

I would @ tom, but seems that isn't working in the app either sadly.

I've managed to find another app to try out that is working for upvotes.

There's a whole lot of new ones out and in development.

This is an exciting time for Lemmy, with the influx of new users and devs working on this landscape.

So that being said, the same applies to the instance. I would love to keep this as up to date as is sensible to make use of any new features.

v0.18 hasn't actually been released yet (https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/releases) but it is planned to release very soon. Looks like Jerboa is just a tad early https://feddit.uk/comment/288934

Hopefully as Lemmy becomes more mature, updates can be better planned to avoid breaking things like this.

Oddly, I am also using Jerboa and I'm not having any issues.

I suspect it's one of the fan teething troubles we'll have as things mature.

Hell, I suspect I won't be using Jerboa in 6 months time because a number of the developers of the third party Reddit apps are switching to Lemmy.

Ok, upvoting and replying worked with Jerboa here (if you can see this). No idea what happened before then.
