I think the cost of satellite service all over the world is pretty high and a service that would exclusively be in the red numbers would end up on the Google graveyard fast. I don't like this but i kinda understand it.

I did buy a Pixel 4a but I guess they were generally cheaper at that time and it was already the old model at the time.

However, satellite connectivity features require specialized hardware, and to the best of our current knowledge, older Pixels lack the requisite hardware to support the feature.
