See I got the whole different interpretation of the story.

I thought the sewer man was in need of coffee and the soldier was trying to help him out.

Weird that I did not at all sympathize with the woman in the story.... I guess I'm conditioned to not like women with starbuckses

That was my first thought too. It was only when the pseudoscience started that I realised I was meant to side with Starbucks girl here, and not the soldier helping out sewer man

I guess because that was always the intended messaging of the kind of schlocky Facebook posts the original is meant to be parodying. It used to be "this wise soldier/farmer/cop/blue collar worker shows a Millennial hipster how the world REALLY works," and now you replace 'Millennial hipster' with 'liberal', but it's all the same shit designed to get you to look down on someone while respecting whoever the meme tells you is worth respecting.

To be honest, I think the novel author in the replies had some valid points. They just had the poor sense of awareness that would lead them to making those points against an obvious parody, and then going "nuh-uh I'm still right" when it was pointed out to be obvious parody with yet more obvious parody.

I guess my point is we should all be taking a step back from the online brainrot, doing more to act locally and benefit the world around us, and supporting our local sewer men.

Filthy little starbuckses

Don't get distracted from the important moral of all this:

There was a sewer man.

[–] z500@startrek.website 24 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Well that was certainly a thing

Wtf, is this first comment? Poeple going around criticising 3 sentence creepy pastas with 3 page comments because they are offended?

They must be Sewer Men.

There are so many questions. How did the soldier know there was a sewer man? How did the soldier know the sewer man wanted coffee? How did he know that coffee was cold enough for the sewer man to drink?

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 9 points 4 months ago

"But doctor", the soldier said. "I am sewer man"

[–] GlennicusM@beehaw.org 5 points 4 months ago

The last question is the most important.

[–] Johanno@feddit.org 1 points 4 months ago

The answer is:.... YES!

Well if I take things seriously, I always knew that the soldier grabbing the coffee from the women was rude. I think it is better to ask forgiveness and feed the poor hungy sewerman than honor social norm and let him die of caffeine withdraw.

That creepypasta shourly can't be a 5 minute read.

It was a five minute read. (At least it felt like one)
