News and Discussions about Reddit

Welcome to !reddit. This is a community for all news and discussions about Reddit.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules

Rule 1- No brigading.

**You may not encourage brigading any communities or subreddits in any way. **

YSKs are about self-improvement on how to do things.

Rule 2- No illegal or NSFW or gore content.

**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.

If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

:::spoiler Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here.

Why are you still there?

This is like saying you hate the taste of fish while ordering a plate of fish fingers

Id argue it's worth maintaining a long term record of the site's censorship activity, accessible on the open web.

Do all your posts on that account get shadow-banned OP, or does it happen per-sub?

[–] answersplease77@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago

Per sub. I recieved a harassment warrent from r/worldnews mods and then got this bitch-made type of shadow ban.

I hate transit.

I use transit to get stuff.

I need transit, then.

Same?

Congratulation. Criticizing the Israeli governments wrongdoings gets you banned in r/worldnews. Happened to me a few years ago, too. They are simply too dumb to understand that there is a difference between valid criticism and antisemitism. For them, any criticism of Israel is automatically antisemitism.

[–] umbrella@lemmy.ml 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

people equating criticism of a literal genocide with antisemitism are malicious, not dumb

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 4 points 5 months ago

Hanlon's Razor. Many of them are probably dumb. The ringleaders are evil, I'll agree, but the chumps are just dumb.

I wish more people would get off of Reddit and those same topics can all be in a neutral location. Let the Reddit moderators and their unbecoming Delusions have no one to "ban".... blocking a profile resolves 99.99% of any discomfort you may feel.... online.. from a stranger,,..

Put in a filter that ****** any 'sensitive ' words,,,. Let mods deal with bots. They ban for subjective perspectives rooted in faux objectivity... it's ridiculous. I've never wanted a company to fail more than Reddit. It's too inconsistent, sensitive and micromanaged,,...

I'm new to Lemmy. Isn't it possible to be banned or shadowbanner here aswell?

[–] Blaze@reddthat.com 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

No, you would straight up banned

[–] doodledup@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago (2 children)

Is that better? I guess, it's less annoying. But you'd feel powerless just the same, wouldn't you?

[–] Telodzrum@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

You can always spin up your own instance and be lord of your little fief.

[–] answersplease77@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

It's 100% better to just ban me stright up. They made everyone think I deleted my comment because I lost the argument or something, and made me think that I spoke out what I needed to say. A huge bitch move much worse than banning me

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago

Don't worry too much about it. On nazi digg, it's understood that "[removed]" usually means "I blasphemed against some nazi mod's tender fee fees." and not "I removed my own comment."

Once your comment is removed, no one else can reply to it, but since nazi digg has to maintain the appearance that it's still up when it's not, you can still reply to it. Take advantage of this ability to point out that the mods are shadow-deleting comments.

The worst that can happen is that you get banned from nazi digg. Become ungovernable.
