I love Brighton so I thought it definitely needs a community on feddit.uk!

Even if you are not a Brightonian, I'd love to hear in this thread what you think of Brighton too! And feel free to introduce yourself while you're at it.

Thanks for visiting!

Former Brightonian here. My family still live in the area but I moved to the USA for work. I don't get the chance to come back as much as I would like, unfortunately. I used to work in Trafalgar Place, next to the train station, and lived in Shoreham, where I still have a house.

Welcome! I moved here from Worthing so Shoreham feels like the neighbour I don't know very well. I'll have to make a point of exploring the place when I get a bit more settled.

If I worked in Trafalgar Place I don't think I'd be able to resist visiting the Open Market at lunchtime!

What do you miss about the south coast the most, now that you've moved to the USA? And don't say the seagulls!

Thanks for creating this! r/brighton is definitely the sub I spent most time in, so grad to see one on lemmy.

I have just moved to Brighton from Hong Kong last year so everything here is still interesting to me.

Cheers!

Welcome to the community (both here and IRL!)

What are some of the most interesting things you have noticed about Brighton so far?

  • Dry-Robes are popular (https://www.instagram.com/doyouownacoat/)
  • Bungaroosh and mathematical tile
  • Wild lifes, probably not Brighton specific but UK in general, is amazing. I've spotted many bird species that were new to me (jays, robins, black birds, herring gulls (yes...)). I went to Hove lagoon to watch jellyfishes. I wasn't lucky enough to meet foxes, neither the seal.
