I’ve looked into this and haven’t really found anything that’s great, outside of using Home Assistant’s camera entity feature to pull the latest radar loop .gif from Weatherbug. A great non-foss app is Radar Omega. Some features do cost money but as a severe weather enthusiast I think it’s worth it.

Someone is developing an app called Supercell Wx. Works really well. https://github.com/dpaulat/supercell-wx

Hi @Kaiser@lemmy.world , can you please elaborate (for me as non-native English speaker) what information you'd expect from a good "Weather Radar"?

Is it about weather broadcasts for your current region? Or something like displaying lightning strikes and rain clouds for your surrounding? Has it to be integrated into a home automation? ...

I assume they mean https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weather_radar

But I’m not sure what kind of software they want. USA's National weather service lets you Download map images but I haven’t seen raw feeds or anything like that
