But what if you never stop thinking about the game and it lives rent-free in your head?

Is it a limitless loss or are you losing so hard you're coming back around to winning?

well, TJ "Henry" Yoshi, hear me out. an instance of Losing the Game actually has three parts to it: when you start thinking about the Game, when you are thinking about it, and when you stop thinking about it. and together, this forms one complete Game Loss. now usually, it's when you start thinking that's important, because that's the only part that increases your Loss counter. however, sometimes it's sufficient to keep thinking about it continuously, which allows the player to decide to announce their Loss and make people around them Lose as well. what this implies is that, in the context of a full Game run, any instance where you declare having Lost the Game can "leech off" of a previous Game Loss, which keeps the total count of complete Losses the same. so in conclusion, since that Loss counts in some contexts, but adds no additional Losses in other contexts, we refer to it as a half Game Loss.

this got me so hard; it belongs in a museum

you like The Game? let me introduce to you The Other Game, which has the same rules but you win instead of losing.

since the only value a The Game loss has is the one you decide it has, The Other Game has the same value. this means that losing The Game and winning The Other Game results in a net 0, saving you from the pit of despair dug by the game.

Zen is reading about The Game without ever forming a thought of The Game in your mind.

What the hell OP

I lost the Game.

The oldest image of Game rules I ever saw had a rule that isn't reported here:

If you win, you get a patch.

Since you can't ever stop playing, and there are only rules about how to lose, it's not clear how you would win the patch, or what it even is, but it did say you could win one and I always make sure to explain this rule when explaining the game to people who have just discovered that they're playing.
