I have been struggling a lot finding a wallpaper app on Android that simply lets me to have both online and local sources (merged) and automatically cycle between them in a specified time, I have tried all of the picture and many of them do this half good, I checked some FOSS apps and I think they are the best (no features locked for example, better UI and less crap).

From the ones listed in the picture I think Wall You is the best, it basically let me have the good things of both worlds, although not at the same time I think, and it has done some weird stuff with my local wallpapers, like miss placed them, not applied them correctly and sometimes only applying it in the home screen and not in the lock screen.

Doodle works fine although only from Google/their sources.

Wallme also allows local, but I could not get the Wallpaper changer to work at my specified time (3 hours) I think that menu is buggy, plus it's online sources comes from Reddit and I'd prefer to not use its API (although it seems a good candidate).

Muzei works fine for local sources and maybe for external because I think it is like plugin based? But I don't like that you can't customize how it applies the wallpapers and they are always miss placed because of the effect (that I don't know how is called).

The last two are some that I got from the Play Store ages ago and I had them installed, iWall only has its own stuff and it is not what I'm looking for and Walli I think it could do the job, although I am not sure, and I'd be willing to try some others before paying for it to unlock those extra features.

So, yeah in a nutshell finding the perfect wallpaper app for me has not been an easy task, do you have something in mind? Or do you think it is weird to want to have a mixed source? What do you recommend me?

For now I am using Doodle although I really would like one which supports both sources and cycle them!

I read you.

Tapet. Generated wallpapers from many presets with your own color palette.

It's not exactly what you're looking for but Tapet is a pretty cool wallpaper app. Locally generated random abstract wallpapers (which you can tweak within the preference)
