Why not put the roads back instead. It’s a horrible junction for cyclists and prdestrians
Just shooting in the dark here, but probably because that would be far more expensive and disruptive than simply moving the statue?
I'd prefer a statue of his daughter, Ada Lovelace, it's the best thing he produced.
