For a few months now while listening to spotify I've noticed a song will come up and I'll think "I thought I already 'liked' this song?" But wasn't positive because sometimes there are multiple issues of the same album (anniversary, remixes etc) so maybe I had liked a different version or something.

But I have a couple playlists where I only add to the playlist when I'm listening to "Liked Songs" on shuffle, sort of a best of the best. And I've observed there are songs on that playlist which are no longer "liked."

Anyone else experience this?

Not sure why they would do this - could be a bug of some kind. Or could be they're trying to promote plays of songs where they don't have to pay out as many royalties, or someone is paying them to promote certain acts.

No but what I noticed is that quite a few songs I had on my liked list are now unavailable and I have no clue which songs that were.

I believe there is a setting you can toggle to "Show unplayable songs". Will not help regarding listening to them but you can at least see the ones no longer available.

Oh really. Thanks for letting me know. I will look for it.

It literally radicalized me last month to make a Bandcamp account and actually buy some of the songs.

One time it wasn't even removed, they replaced a song with a worse remix.

I've had this issue for a long time. With how many songs I've liked, who knows what they've removed. I also don't always check if I liked it since I'm driving usually. But there are songs I know for sure I liked and were no longer.

Yes! I've always noticed it here and there, but I have noticed it a lot more over the last few weeks.

I know more than one person that has been burned by the liked songs feature in Spotify over the years. I’ve always used my own playlist for this so I’ve never had a problem (other than songs becoming unavailable but that’s not a technical problem)

I had a similar experience recently. I have my “liked list” that I play in my car while driving. Idk like 300 songs. My car is old as shit so I have to have a dongle attached to an aux cord plugged into my phone and a tiny aux Jack in the bottom of my center console. Well, sometimes I’m in the mood for songs and sometimes I’m not, so I’ll poke my screen to skip a song or two while driving. One day I was searching for a particular song and it wasn’t found in my liked list.

I finally figured out why it didn’t show up. There’s a bunch of clickable buttons right below the play button “hip hop, pump up, aggressive “ etc. Long story short, I had accidentally clicked one of these buttons and it had hidden half my liked songs. So I had to un-click that, and then all my songs were back again.

I don't know if songs being removed since I probably wouldn't notice, but sometimes if I like a version of a song that's not the album version (a radio edit or live performance) it will be replaced with the standard studio recording.
