I was just wondering about this the other day, the way some parents plaster every detail of their child's lives all over socials media is definitely going to have some major side effects at some point.
For sure. For the worst ones, it feels like the kids are an accessory in the parents’ lives instead of the parents respecting them as their own selves. I’m an old millennial so I was definitely on Facebook while it was hot, and I totally posted pics of my kids when they were little, but man do I kind of regret that now. I stopped posting many years ago, certainly by the time they would be aware of it, so hopefully I didn’t do much, if any, psychological damage. But it still makes me feel icky to know how much I just shared without thinking. And I wasn’t even a serial poster like some friends.
