How does one interact with Mastodon with kbin? (kbin.social)

On the kbin.pub. It said:

I thought Mastodon (and maybe other federative platforms) are very different from kbin, in terms of the intended uses and functionalities. How do I interact with it?

When I make a thread on /m/kbin, what does it do on Mastodon?

If you click a hashtag e.g. #kbin then you'll find much of what is found is from Mastodon.

I'm sure it must be possible to search for a hashtag in a similar way but I've not quite worked that one out!
