The fuck does that have to do with emotion?

I'm going to answer on their behalf:

Notice how balls-to-the-wall mad that person is while telling you to stop thinking with emotion and use logic? That accusation is a confession.

I've actually been seeing this a lot in the last few months from reactionary asshats, telling anyone who's talking about problems in the world that they're thinking with emotion and not logic, and actually going so far as to explain the concept in as much detail as their understanding can manage, as if most people haven't already understood the concept and moved past it to a more complex view of reality where a person exists as a wholistic entity capable of integrating reason and emotion, and is not only able to see what is but the limitations of their knowledge and their imagination of what could be and what should be. Critique of Pure Reason was published in 1781 FFS.

I have to assume some right wing media grifter has recently put out some big video on the topic and they're just parroting that, but I have no idea what the actual source of it is.

You're absolutely right! In Germany this type of behavior is even propagated by conservative parties. They're blaming the green party for acting on ideology. This is "emotion" paraphrased. It doesn't come as a surprise to me that simpletons adopt this narrative. Right wing propaganda essentially works by triggering emotions.
