I don’t really understand how North Korea continues to exist. I guess they aren’t sanctioned hard enough? I guess it’s hard to get in spies? I guess it’s hard to remove Kim? They seem so weak, but they keep slowly developing into some weird sort of threat.
They’re kept afloat by China, basically. Chaos in NK has the potential to spill over the Yalu and cause problems in China.Plus, Seoul is within artillery range of the DMZ, so any “kinetic” end to the regime is quite risky.
It's just not worth it for anyone to do anything.
N.Korea is essentially used as slave labour by China, and is propped up by them in return.
Look up "bureau 39". They have installed a nice cash flow institute, that goes around the sanctions.
People want to live, they will live.
