I wear a mask to work if I'm sick but can't call in. People give me odd looks but honestly I kinda enjoy not having to wear as much make up because of the mask lol

hahaha thankfully not american. It's a self-imposed "can't".

get worried I'll come across as if I'm taking the piss if I take leave on a Monday/Friday or too often

Depends on how often is too often. Personally, if I'm ill then I'm not going to work.
