So it's like a normal government...

The reason we have politicians is because normal people don't have the time to spend all their time worrying about politics and decisions. So we delegate the power to a smaller group of people.

Some countries delegate more and some less power (like with direct democracy like Switzerland has) but it's essentially the same.

@lud We used to delegate power to a smaller group. Now the group is delegating itself. That's why today, you are calling it an establishment, and not a government.

The only thing the "normal people" must do is participate in the decision making process. The implementation itself will be delegated to a smaller group indeed.
