Request a Feddit.uk community

If you see a need for a community on Feddit.uk then the best advice is to start it. If you need help, then post a message requesting volunteers to pitch in on the moderating. Don't worry too much though there's plenty of people around who can advise the important thing is to get the ball rolling.
However, if you think Feddit.uk needs a community but you aren't in a position to help it get started then this is the community for you. Start a new post with the idea and then, when someone starts it they can throw a link in.

Looks like it, I just wasn't sure if the United Kingdom one wanted to be kept for more general stiff about the UK which was a bit more serious than Casual UK and then a dedicated UK News community would be the automatic destination for news.
Tbh we could have it and see where people go. No reason to just copy Reddit
True. Reddit evolved organically, whereas a new start lets us put a bit of planning in.
So you could have:
News:
Non-news:
Over in the other discussion I also suggested c/muckraking for tabloid journalism and gossip (which would give people the chance to block it and not have it trouble their timeline).
Just bumping this and tagging in a few folks to see what their thoughts are: @tom@feddit.uk, @GreatAlbatross@feddit.uk, @tkc@feddit.uk.
Honestly, I'm in favor of seeing where things land.
As we're a smaller instance, more "general" communities are good for keeping things feeling active.
But if people are keen to try starting things up and seeing how they go, I don't see any reason to stop them, other than mentioning my previous sentence.
