Behind the scenes: During the call with Biden on Monday, Netanyahu complained about Schumer's speech and Biden's endorsement of it. He also claimed the public political attacks against him in the U.S. are interference in Israeli politics, the sources said.

The sources said Biden pushed back and told Netanyahu he is not trying to undermine him and has no intention to intervene in Israeli domestic politics.

White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said in a briefing with reporters on Monday that Netanyahu "did raise his concerns about a variety of things that have come out in the American press."

Sullivan added that from Biden's perspective "this is not a question of politics. It's not a question of public statements. It's a question of policy and strategy."

One source said the fact that Netanyahu aired his grievances with Biden helped to somewhat clear the atmosphere.

Why bother listening? You've already decided that anyone who thinks Biden should stop supporting genocide isn't voting for him.

[–] halferect@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Why promote what will cost us the country? It's fine to criticize biden but when we are dealing with the death of democracy you shouldn't push a narrative that helps trump

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

You just love that he's supporting the genocide you've always wanted.

[–] halferect@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

If I wanted more violence and genocide I would be like you and making Gaza a make or break issue.

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I'm voting for Biden. I'm not advocating voting against him.

I'm just saying that he should stop supporting genocide. But since you can't justify genocide, you have to pretend that I want Trump to win.

By continuing the narrative of biden is a war hungry blood thirsty genocide Joe you are helping Trump. Its basic shit. People like you act like biden had a choice when you just discount the entirety of US and Isreal history. It's not like biden can just say hey Isreal can you stop, please? You wanna Blame someone blame yourself for being only aware of issues when they get popular and not the 100 years prior. Or even the 1000 years before that... or the 1000 years before that

He should stop supporting genocide and so should you. Trump is a convenient excuse to silence opposition to the genocide you support.

People like you act like biden had a choice

Biden didn't need to circumvent congress to sell Netanyahu weapons for genocide. He didn't need to run interference for Netanyahu at the UN.

It’s not like biden can just say hey Isreal can you stop, please?

He can withhold or condition weapons sales and stop propping Netanyahu up at the UN.

You wanna Blame someone blame yourself for being only aware of issues when they get popular and not the 100 years prior. Or even the 1000 years before that… or the 1000 years before that

"That's the way we've always done it" is a really shitty justification for supporting genocide.

[–] halferect@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

OK let's stop supporting isreal.... guess what happens next? Every Muslim country erases Isreal and you ask why biden didn't support Isreal. Its global politics and you can act all high and mighty but you fail to see that while what's happening is awful the inverse will also be awful and your solution is to Blame biden for a impossible situation. And in the end the united states is a weapons manufacturer and our job is making and selling weapons so if you wanna work in the frame work we are given then recognize that and our president is a weapons salesmen no matter who is elected. You want change? Go start bombing shit, kill senators...otherwise you work in the system. That's the real world. Don't kill people or vote for killing people, or vote for killing people faster, or you kill people. Welcome to America

I submit that Israel, being a nuclear power, can take care of themselves. If not, the prospect of losing their support is likely to make Netanyahu reconsider pursuing genocide and calling it war.

Biden did not need to sell them weapons. Biden does not need to run interference for them at the UN. They're committing genocide. Democrats should not be supporting that, but centrists have decided to show that genocide is all they are.

[–] halferect@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

Nuclear power is a fail safe, do you want Isreal to be threatened by Iran? Another Nuclear power? Global politics get sticky and nasty. Let's say bidens betrays a 70 year old ally that we agreed to fund and make money from? I mean I'm in the position of let's see who launches first!!!! End of the world because your feefees got hurt. The world is nasty and you need to understand that.

Iran is not a nuclear power.

Officially we don't know, but then it will be Pakistan. Literally pick a Muslim country, they all want Isreal dead

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Israel is a nuclear power. Iran is not.

Since you've chosen to lie in order to justify your support for genocide, there's no point in continuing this conversation.

Hey you support it too since you are voting for biden you fucking genocide lover

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Weak bait. This conversation has concluded.

[–] halferect@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago

You are American right? So by association what Isreal is doing is your fault. Your tax dollars go to genocide and since you say I support the genocide you must also support genocide. I just support reality while you live in a fantasy
