Yorkshire use plant based PLA to stick the bags together.
Thought I'm not sure what the impact of this is.

PLA's a bio-plastic that, while technically biodegradable, will only break down under very specific industrial composting conditions - we're talking heat above 55-70°C, and in the presence of microorganisms. It's a lot better than fossil-fuel plastics, but it's still not great.

Lucky my local council incinerates the food waste in that case 🙃
