I don't understand why he's allowed to run again, much less why he's not in jail.

Even then he could still run while in jail and pardon himself if he wins too.

He might not be able to run if convicted? Honestly I could understand why he wasn't in jail if I bothered to read the articles explaining the processes and the complex legal reason he isn't. I just... don't care to spend my time doing that

Apparently he can as there’s history of convicted people running for president while in jail but both of them lost.

No idea what would actually happen if Trump wins if he’s in jail though. Would be unprecedented.
