It’s unclear though what UK brings to the table, i.e. why should EU (and not single countries) accept those bilateral agreements. Reciprocal benefits are the reason why countries are part of the union.
delusions of grandeur. That's about it.
I'm sure EU can think of something it can benefit the union, and humiliate the UK in the process (because we need to learn what humility is).
Whos learning though? The people at the top that pushed for this are all chipping off into cushty jobs in the private sector. As a bonus making a mint shorting the pound.
