Church of Satan, the athiest organization one, not one believing in a real spiritual entity.

The Satanic Bible is a collection of essays, observations, and rituals published by Anton LaVey in 1969. It is the central religious text of LaVeyan Satanism.

So if my understanding is right, they saw the problems with religion, and started their own religion?

It's definitely up for debate on whether principles strictly prohibiting theism constitutes a theism itself, but yes and furthermore they claimed religious iconography specifically to upset religious people and get religious icons banned in public places. The earlier Levayan Satanism especially went above and beyond for their outfits and rituals.
